According to new regulations, school bullies in Singapore will be caned.

Depending on the seriousness of the offense, boys could receive one to three canings.

Because "women shall not be punished with caning" according to the nation's Criminal Procedure Code, girls are exempt.

It will only be applied as a last resort for "egregious violations" with severe safeguards, according to Singapore Education Minister Desmond Lee. In Singapore, caning, which involves striking someone with a rattan cane, is a type of physical punishment employed in both the legal and educational systems. Males are subject to it for major violations like bullying, vandalism, and other crimes. The procedure is frequently viewed as a severe final option for imposing discipline.
