People from Generation Z who were once infatuated with technology and rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) are now conveying negative attitude towards AI. But what may have caused this sudden shift?

Based on the data from 3dvf.com, enthusiasm for AI-related technologies among Gen z have decreased from 36% to 22%. Hopefulness rates decreased from 27% to 18% and anxiety levels connected to AI technologies increased to 42%. A lot of Gen Z respondents even express strong anger towards AI.

The main reason for this shift is the potential of AI becoming young people's competitor in the job market. AI is no longer just a tool: it is also the thing that can take away jobs from junior professionals. Older specialists with a longer work experience can have less of a possibility of their work and projects being replaced by AI. However, younger people who are looking to gain experience in entry-level jobs, treat AI as a rival that can automate their jobs.

Nevertheless, this data doesn't mean that Generation Z is rejecting AI completely. Instead, they understand that adaption to the rapid development of AI is definite. 52% of respondents consider proficiency in AI important while 56% state that they are expecting to use it even more after graduation. So, this negative approach towards AI somehow coexists with the understanding that AI is crucial to adapt to.

It is clear that Generation Z recognizes both risks and the necessity of AI. They understand that future success will depend not on avoiding AI, but on learning how to use it effectively and strategically.
