The CICOPS Scholarship Program 2027, offered by the UNIFIND, aims to promote international cooperation with developing countries. Scholarship recipients will work on their own research projects in collaboration with university professors.

The scholarship program at the University of Pavia is available across various academic fields, including Chemistry, Physics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Electrical, Computer and Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Biology and Biotechnology, Brain and Behavioral Sciences, Internal Medicine and Therapeutics, Molecular Medicine, Public Health, Neuroscience, Experimental and Forensic Medicine, Diagnostic and Pediatric Sciences, Law, Economics and Management, Cultural Heritage, Political and Social Sciences, and Humanities. Within this fully funded international research program, the host department will provide participants with access to libraries, computer facilities, and other research resources.

After confirming their acceptance letter, the University of Pavia will provide visa support, round-trip airfare, medical and personal accident insurance, accommodation arrangements, a meal card for free use at university cafeterias, and financial support for participants. At the end of the program, participants are required to prepare a report on the work carried out at the host department and submit copies of any articles or publications produced during the program.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must have at least two years of teaching experience or experience working in international organizations and institutions.
  • The scholarships are intended for both young and experienced academics working at universities in developing countries who are interested in development studies.
  • Individuals currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program at an Italian university are not eligible to apply.
  • Selected candidates must confirm their acceptance within 20 days of receiving the selection letter.

How to apply for the scholarship program:

  • Find a professor in your field at the University of Pavia (use UNIFIND to search for professors).
  • Send emails to professors. Attach your CV and briefly explain your research idea.
  • Try to obtain an invitation letter from a professor. This step is mandatory.
  • If you do not receive a response, continue contacting other professors.
  • After obtaining the invitation letter, visit the official website and complete the online application form.
  • Upload all required documents, especially your CV and invitation letter.
  • Make sure your application is complete. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
  • Submit your application before the deadline (June 10, 2026).
  • Results are usually announced in July.
